Dr. Michael Yee is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in orthopaedic trauma, including the management of complex fractures of the extremities and pelvis, fracture nonunion and malunion, and fracture-related infection.
After graduating summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Yee completed medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine, where he graduated in the top three of his class. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan, followed by a focused one-year fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology at Erlanger, affiliated with the UTHSC College of Medicine – Chattanooga.
Following fellowship, Dr. Yee worked at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, an extremely busy facility that serves as eastern North Carolina's only level I trauma center. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, AO North America, and the Southeastern Fracture Consortium.
When he’s not working, Dr. Yee enjoys playing recreational sports, especially softball and basketball, taking advantage of Chattanooga's many outdoor activities, snacking, and spending time with his family.
