We would like to take the time to congratulate Jeremy Bruce, MD, Jesse Doty, MD, and Warren Gardner, II, MD on their recent promotions to Associate Professor; as well as, Daniel Doty, MD, Case Sanders, MD, and Robert Quigley, MD to Assistant Professors. Good well done!
We would like to welcome our new residents and fellow to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UTCOM Chattanooga. As we are closing out the 2018-2019 academic year, we will be saying goodbye to the chiefs, Chase Kluemper, Abdul Sabri, and Ryan Voskuil and welcoming in the new interns, Felipe Colón, Colton Norton, and Charlie Powell, as well as Michael Yee, our 2019-2020 Trauma fellow.
Felipe was raised in Puerto Rico but moved to Baton Rouge, LA as a teenager and went to the Louisiana State University. He moved abroad to attend medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin. He is an avid sports fan, especially with the Tigers and Saints. He is passionate about orthopedics and excited to a part of the incredible Chattanooga program.
Colton was born and raised in Jackson, TN and attended undergrad at the University of Tennessee. At UT, he walked on to the varsity tennis team and played for four years before being accepted to the UTHSC College of Medicine in Memphis in 2015. He is a huge Tennessee sports fan and enjoying watching sports of all kinds, playing tennis, trying to play golf, brewing beer, and spending time with his fiance Eileen. He has various interests within orthopaedics and he is undecided as to what specific field he would like to pursue.
Charlie was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Georgia Southern University prior to his time at the Medical College of Georgia. His lovely wife’s name is Tatum. They have two dogs and are very excited about being in Chattanooga and joining such a great orthopedics program.
Mike was born in New York City, grew up in New Jersey, and then attended Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate education. He went on to complete medical school at SUNY Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York, where he became interested in orthopaedic surgery, especially the field of trauma. He received his residency training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor prior to starting trauma fellowship in Chattanooga. When not fixing broken bones, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lynea and dog Rufus, hiking, traveling, and playing recreational sports.
